Despite the large number of visitors to the site, local communities do not see many of the benefits. The Project

In collaboration with National Geographic, SPI is expanding its successful BiciTour program to Chan Chan. Young people from local communities will conduct visitors around the site on bicycles. This allows tourists a much better experience of the site, and gives young people much needed employment. Our participants are trained in local archaeology, bike maintenance and business skills!
